Patent Validation in Italy: full translation of EP specification shall be filed, in order to validate a granted EP in Italy

Validation of a European Patent shall be made by filing a full text translation into Italian of the EP specification.

Within three months from the publication of the Mention of Grant of a European Patent, a full translation (all text and claims) shall be filed and the first annuity shall be paid, in order to validate a European Patent in Italy.

At present, Italy does not join the London Agreement, which reduces or annulls the burden of translating the granted text of the European Patent.
